Inclusive Government Procurement: How certification models are empowering LGBT entrepreneurs in the United States and Latin America.
This webinar explores how certification programs and inclusive procurement practices have had a positive impact in the United States for LGBT Entrepreneurs and how we can apply these practices in Latin -America and the Caribbean. The Webinar includes speakers from the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and the State of Maryland Inclusive Procurement Program as well as country case studies of the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.

Government at a Glance: Latin America and the Caribbean 2024
It is a joint project of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the OECD, provides quantitative and qualitative data on public governance in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region. This fourth edition addresses 11 areas, organized into 3 broad categories: 1- public governance outcomes: trust in public institutions and satisfaction with public services 2- achieving results with good governance practices: governance of the public policy cycle, open government, regulatory governance, budgetary practices and procedures, public procurement management, infrastructure planning and implementation, and digital government and open government data 3- resources used by public institutions and how they are managed: public revenues, public spending, public employment and representativeness, and human resource management.

Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples in the Public Procurement Market: Lessons for Latin America and the Caribbean from International Experiences
This paper discusses the numerous ways that Indigenous peoples are excluded from or disadvantaged in public procurement markets, as well as international best practices regarding their inclusion in these markets. Five countries were identified as having relevant programs and initiatives to incorporate Indigenous peoples in the public procurement market: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States. This exploratory paper analyzes their policies, the institutional frameworks and regulations that govern them, their eligibility criteria, and the results obtained. It concludes with recommendations for replicating such programs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
