Recognize public policy along with its characteristics and relate that to its value to the public. Identify the characteristics of public management, in general, and those of social management, in particular. Identify the purpose and chief characteristics of the role of managers in the public environment.
Descripción:Recognize and analyze the components of the implementation of the public policy process. Conceptually identify the problems that affect the implementation of public policy. Recognize the need to design interventions for the implementation process.
Learn and apply retrospective analysis to implementation processes. Select a set of actors and activities through which an intervention can be designed to improve the implementation of public policy.
Participants should: Have completed higher education and Exercise managerial responsibility over the execution of social programs at the regional, provincial, local or municipal level. Participants can come from public institutions (including those at the central or national level, as long as the participant focuses on the execution of programs at the local or regional level), regional or provincial governments, local or municipal governments or organizations that are not related to government.
The full fee for this course is USD $140. We offer a 50% discount for an early bird payment done by April 2nd.. Early bird fee is USD $70. After April 2nd, the full fee will be charged. The costs for the development of this course have been covered, largely, by funds from IDB (Inter-American Development Bank). Participants pay US$140 to register (no refunds), which will allow them access to the INDES (Inter-American Institute for Social and Economic Development) virtual classroom, to its resources, to ongoing mentoring by the teachers/tutors, technical support for the virtual platform and a certificate of course completion for those participants earning a point total of 65 or more. Each participant is responsible for his or her own costs for Internet access. It should be emphasized that this fee does not cover the entire cost for the course; IDB, through its regional technical cooperation program, covers the balance of the applicable fees.
